TvPoll for KWTV Shows Murphy Has 8.2 Point Lead in Corporation Commission Race Says Voters Want Experience
(Edmond, OK) Conservative Republican Dana Murphy says the latest
polling results show what she and her supporters have known all along,
voters want someone with real qualifications and hands-on experience at
the Corporation Commission.
The poll shows Murphy ahead of her opponent 44.7% to 36.1% in the race
for the Corporation Commission seat formerly held by Denise Bode.
19.2% of those polled remain undecided. The poll of 850 likely voters
has a 3% margin of error.
"This poll comes on the heels of the National Republican Convention.
There we saw another woman, Governor Sarah Palin, energize and motivate
voters across the country with her down home, common sense, no nonsense
message. Our campaign has been doing the same thing here in Oklahoma
since I announced my run for this seat."
With voters concerned about energy, Murphy says voters appear to be
looking for an Oklahoman with 20 years of experience in the energy
sector.
"I'm the only candidate who's actually worked in the energy sector. My
experience as a working geologist, an Administrative Law Judge at the
Corporation Commission and running my own oil and gas law practice give
me the practical, hands on experience needed to be an effective
commissioner."
People want meaningful change says Murphy. "They're tired of the same
old song and dance from the same old career bureaucrats and
politicians."
"As the people's watchdog at the Commission, I'll make sure consumers
and producers get a fair deal. There will be no special deals for the
special interest groups."
