Corporation Commission: Just a Click Away E-mail
Monday, 19 July 2010 18:56

Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Dana Murphy says a new data system is now available to Oklahoma's oil and gas producers that will save them time and money.

"Nowhere is the expression 'time is money' more accurate than in the oil and gas business," Murphy noted. "The new system will allow a number of forms to be filed online, eliminating the time and cost associated with the old paper-filing system. It also allows for fast posting of all data to the OCC's oil and gas well record website, giving the producers access to the data they need in making decisions which can involve millions of dollars."

Senator Coburn Endorses Dana Murphy for Corporation Commissioner E-mail
Thursday, 30 October 2008 01:00
(Muskogee, OK)  Today, U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, M.D. said that "Dana Murphy is the best qualified person to take a seat on the Corporation Commission.  Her 20 years of real world experience in the energy industry working as a geologist and energy attorney coupled with her six years experience as an administrative law judge on the Corporation Commission ensure that Dana is ready on day one to work for all Oklahomans.  As a small business owner herself, Dana also understands the issues facing business owners and everyday Oklahomans in dealing with energy costs today and in the future.

Coburn went on to say, "Dana has a deep love for our state and a commitment to use all of her God-given talents and skills to help our state and our nation move forward to greater energy independence.  Dana's education, experience, conservative Oklahoma values and deep Oklahoma roots make her the best choice for Corporation Commissioner.  We can trust Dana to serve with integrity in challenging times and to stand up for the best interests of our state.  Dana Murphy is worthy of your vote on November 4th."

Western Oklahoma Legislative Leaders Endorse Murphy E-mail
Thursday, 30 October 2008 01:00

State Senator Owen Laughlin and Representatives Gus Blackwell and Jeff Hickman today endorsed Ellis County native Dana Murphy for Corporation Commission.

"There's an old saying that you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl," said Laughlin, the Republican Floor Leader in the Senate. "That statement applies to our friend and fellow western Oklahoman, Dana Murphy."

Murphy's deep western Oklahoma roots make her the only candidate for Corporation Commission who has a rural perspective.

"We know she'll look out for the interests of all Oklahomans," said Hickman, chairman of the Rural Caucus in the House of Representatives who also farms in northwest Oklahoma.  "We also know she'll be a watchdog for the special needs of farmers and ranchers across our state."

Murphy has 20 years of experience in the oil patch and six years as a law judge at the Corporation Commission giving her more experience on issues which come before the Commission than her opponent.

"He's just a career bureaucrat, someone we don't need," said Blackwell, who serves as the Speaker Pro Tempore, the second highest position in the House of Representatives.  "We need Dana; someone with real world experience who can make the critical decisions based on what's important to all Oklahomans, not just a special few."

"Dana is one of us," Laughlin said. "We know her, trust her and respect her.  Dana will do the right thing for all Oklahomans. I join Representative Blackwell and Representative Hickman in encouraging everyone to vote for Dana on November 4th."

Murphy Says Opponent Resorting to Smear Campaign E-mail
Thursday, 23 October 2008 16:58
(Oklahoma City, OK) Republican Corporation Commission candidate Dana Murphy says appointee Corporation Commissioner Jim Roth’s attempt to smear her name with accusations from a 15 year old divorce  is nothing but good ole’ boy politics at its worst.  Murphy says it’s being done with hundreds of thousands dollars of campaign contributions from his special interest friends inside and outside the state.

“As a career bureaucrat, he has relied on his powerful, special interest friends to get where he is today”, says Murphy.  “He’s panicked because he won’t be able to deliver more favors for powerful friends if he is not elected to the job that was given to him.”
