Tulsa Beacon: Re-elect Commissioner Murphy |
|
|

Oklahoma's history contains a long line of corruption with elected officials. Another problem is that the state sometimes elects people who have no idea how to effectively run government.
Neither is the case with Corporation Commissioner Dana Murphy.
Murphy was elected to office in a special vote less than two years ago. She was uniquely qualified for that post, having served previously as an administrative judge for the commission.
It's a huge job to sit on the Corporation Commission. It's no place for on-the-job training. Decisions are made daily that affect the lives of every Oklahoman.

'Murphy is the right leader at the right time on energy issues'
Edmond,
OK) Today Republican Corporation Commission candidate Dana Murphy
received endorsements from three more of Oklahoma's most respected
Congressional leaders.
"I
am honored and humbled that these great Oklahoma leaders are endorsing
me along with the earlier endorsements of Congresswoman Mary Fallin and
U.S. Senators Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn," said Murphy. "In critical
economic times these leaders all recognize that we need the most
qualified, experienced Oklahoman to help lead our state on energy
issues, someone who will be a watchdog for everyday Oklahomans."
Congressman Tom Cole: "I've known Dana Murphy for a long time and seen
first-hand her work ethic and the depth of her character in dealing
with tough issues. Her energy, drive and determination to do what's
best for Oklahoma proved to me that she is worthy of your vote on
November 4th. As a 5th generation Oklahoman, she is committed to our
State and our conservative Oklahoma values. Her 20 years of experience
in the oil and gas industry as a geologist and energy attorney, along
with her six years experience as an administrative law judge on the
Corporation Commission are unmatched. With such critical times in the
energy sector, we need someone with Dana's experience and credentials
to step up and hit the ground running for us. Dana is the right leader
at the right time for Oklahoma."
Congressman Frank Lucas - "As someone who lives in rural
Oklahoma, I am excited to see my friend Dana Murphy running for
Corporation Commission. Dana knows the issues important to farmers and
ranchers across our state. I know she'll be a watchdog for the best
interests of all Oklahomans. We can trust her as someone like us, a
hard-working Oklahoman who is the real deal. Oklahomans deserve a
Corporation Commissioner who has hands-on experience in the oil and gas
industry and understands the issues related to both mineral owners and
producers. Dana has 20 years of experience in the energy industry and
almost six years as a law judge for the Corporation Commission. No one
else comes close to matching her qualifications for this very important
office."
Congressman John Sullivan: "Dana Murphy will follow a
long line of honest, hard working Republicans to serve at the Oklahoma
Corporation Commission. We need her enthusiasm, expertise and education
to help move Oklahoma into a new era of energy exploration. Dana has
joined me in recognizing the needs for an 'all of the above' energy
solution. She recognizes what Oklahoma must do to stay on the leading
edge of energy exploration."

candidate Dana Murphy for a press conference Friday, October 31st,
2008, at 9 a.m.
Coffee was joined by Senator Randy

some bureaucrat who is nothing more than the lapdog of special interest
groups. That's why all of us believe electing Dana Murphy to the
Corporation Commission is so vital to Oklahoma's best interests."
"With her vast experience in oil and
gas – Oklahoma's number one industry; her six years of experience as a
law judge at the Commission; her strong Oklahoma values and common
sense approach to all issues, we know that she will always do what's
best for all Oklahomans."
"We encourage everyone to cast a vote for Oklahoma's energy future by voting for Dana Murphy on November 4th."
Murphy is the Best Choice for Corporation Commission
Her experience is needed in these critical economic times

Oklahoma) Speaker of the House Chris Benge; Senators Bill Brown, Brian
Bingman, Randy Brogdon, David Myers; Representatives John Wright, Pam
Peterson, Daniel Sullivan, Skye McNiel, Dale DeWitt and David Derby

Commission. Dana is one of the most ethical, hard working people we
know. Her 20 years of real world oil and gas experience coupled with
her six years serving our state as a law judge at the Commission give
her qualifications for the job unmatched by her opponent.
In
these uncertain economic times, we need a proven leader, someone who
knows the job and can make a positive impact on the lives of all
Oklahomans. We need a real watchdog on the Commission, someone who
will look out for the best interests of all Oklahomans, not just a
special few. We know Dana Murphy is that person.
We ask all Oklahomans to vote for our future by voting for Dana Murphy on November 4th.

FOR CORPORATION COMMISSIONER -- Jeff Cloud definitely for reelection. And Dana
Murphy, 6-year legal officer for the Commission, for the short term. Dana and
her opponent Jim Roth, appointed by the Governor, are both well qualified but I
chose Dana for her extra years of experience there.

We encourage voters to return Jeff Cloud to a second term on the state Corporation Commission.
We also encourage a vote for Dana Murphy, replacing the man who currently holds a seat on the commission.
Cloud has done a commendable job in his first term. There is no reason to replace him.

Norman Transcript: Murphy and Cloud endorsed for Corporation Commission |
|
|
Friday, 31 October 2008 05:03 |
|
Voters statewide will have a chance to select two members of the
Oklahoma Corporation Commission Tuesday. Earlier this year, we endorsed
Dana Murphy of Edmond for the short-term seat. We repeat that
endorsement.
We believe Ms. Murphy is the most qualified to sit
on the commission. She has seen the commission from three sides: As a
private attorney representing oil and gas clients, as a geologist
working in the state's oilpatch and as a Commission administrative law
judge.

Fallin says Dana Murphy's Character and Qualifications above Reproach |
|
|
Wednesday, 29 October 2008 10:24 |
|
(Oklahoma City, OK) Congresswoman Mary Fallin today praised
Corporation Commission candidate Dana Murphy as a woman of outstanding
character and ethics.
"Dana Murphy is one of the most ethical people I know," said
Fallin. "Dana is a devoted Christian woman deeply committed to her
family and to Oklahoma. We should be proud that someone with her
experience, deep love for our state and above all, deep moral
commitment to do the right thing every time, wants to serve us as a
Corporation Commissioner."
"Dana has the experience, the commitment and the determination to
serve Oklahoma well. I can't think of a better, more qualified person
to be a watchdog for all Oklahomans on the Corporation Commission"
Fallin says she is disappointed by the recent attacks on Murphy's character.
"Oklahomans deserve to hear a real and honest debate about the
issues and how each candidate plans to address the important policy
decisions made at the Corporation Commission. During these uncertain
times, voters need to know which candidate will best understand their
concerns and represent their values. I believe Dana is the person we
want making the decisions that impact our daily lives."
"Dana's understanding of the issues facing our state is second to
none and I know she will be a tireless advocate for the people of
Oklahoma."
"This has been a tough campaign, but I hope come Election Day,
voters will look beyond the rhetoric and baseless attacks and select
the person who will best serve their interests as Corporation
Commission. There is no doubt in my mind that person is Dana Murphy."

Edmond Life & Liesure: Fallin, Murphy Top our Preferences |
|
|
Wednesday, 29 October 2008 09:44 |
|
First
and foremost we proudly endorse returning Congresswoman Mary Fallin to
office. As our representative for the 5th Congressional District in
Oklahoma, she has proven herself by continuing to take her constituents
view point and values to Washington, D.C. She has been a friend for
over 22 years but our endorsement of Fallin is because of the loyalty
and friendship she has shown not only Edmond and the 5th District but
the entire state of Oklahoma. She has served Oklahoma with distinction
and honor. We encourage you to join us and cast your vote for Mary
Fallin for the United States Congress.
We strongly endorse Dana Murphy for Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
She is an Edmond gal, smart and most of all highly qualified for the
office. If you compare the resumes of the two candidates, it is no
contest. Dana Murphy wins it hands down over Jim Roth, the Democrat in
the race. In fact, it is not even close. I also have to add that it is
disappointing to see Jim Roth stoop to such pathetic tactics in his
campaign advertising. It must be a sign of panic by the advisors to his
campaign. I had always had a great amount of respect for Roth when he
served as an Oklahoma County Commissioner. However, it appears he is
just another career politician willing to stoop to anything to win an
election. We urge you to vote for Murphy in this race.

Inhofe Says Dana Murphy Essential to Oklahoma's Energy Success |
|
|
Wednesday, 29 October 2008 09:41 |
(Edmond,
OK) United States Senator Jim Inhofe today said electing Dana Murphy as
the state's next Corporation Commissioner is vital if Oklahoma is to
grow as an energy leader for our nation in the coming years.
"The energy industry is the backbone of Oklahoma's economy. Dana has 20
years experience in the oil and gas industry and almost six years as a
law judge for the Corporation Commission. With a host of energy issues
facing our state in the coming years, we need Dana's expertise and
experience on the Commission."
"Dana's qualifications for this position are unmatched. Her private
sector experience and unmatched credentials make her the most qualified
candidate for Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner. I have no doubt she
will serve with integrity and promote the best interests of our
state."
"Oklahoma needs leaders like Dana Murphy. I encourage everyone to get out and vote for her on November 4."

Southwestern State Legislators Endorse Murphy for Corporation Commission |
|
|
Tuesday, 28 October 2008 04:05 |
|
(Lawton, OK) Today State Representatives Ann Coody,
Don Armes and Phil Richardson along with State Senator Ron Justice
endorsed Republican Dana Murphy for the short term Corporation
Commission seat.
We are proud to endorse Dana Murphy as Oklahoma's
best choice for Corporation Commissioner. Coming from a farm and ranch
background, she shares our conservative values and the work ethic of
rural Oklahomans.
In these days of political corruption across our
state, Dana is someone all Oklahomans can trust. She'll be a watchdog
on the Corporation Commission for everyone, not a lapdog for special
interest groups.
Dana has 20 years experience in the oil patch as a
geologist and attorney and six years as a law judge at the Corporation
Commission. This gives her unmatched qualifications and the experience
we need in these times of critical energy issues facing our State.
We urge all Oklahomans to vote for Dana Murphy on November 4th.
