Dear Friends,

Wishing all of you a very Happy New Year and many blessings ahead in 2011!   I am excited about starting in my new role as Chair of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission on Monday, January 3, 2011.  You can read about some of my priorities for the Commission and the State at the following link:

Monday, January 10th, following the Inauguration for Governor-elect Mary Fallin at noon at the State Capitol, I will have a swearing in ceremony to take the special oath of office for Commissioner at 3 p.m. in the Commissioners' courtroom on the 3rd floor of the Jim Thorpe Building, just south and west of the Capitol.  My good friend, U.S. District Court Judge Stephen P. Friot, will administer the special oath.  I hope that you can join with me and my family from western Oklahoma to kick off my new six year term as a Commissioner.  A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.   My hope is that many of you will be able to attend both the Inauguration and my special ceremony.

In the past two years, I have traveled almost 25,000 miles attending and/or speaking at over 500+ events across the State on behalf of the Commission, all in addition to my regular responsibilities as a Commissioner.  I have used "Dana" dollars, not state tax dollars or campaign dollars, to do this simply because I can and am willing to do so.  I know many of you have heard me speak about striving to do what is right, not because one should, but because one can.  As 2011 unfolds, I will continue to strive to do that and to bring my A-game every day to give my best to all of you and to my State.

I know my election and re-election to this position is due to the support and belief of my family and so many of you.  Thank you for believing in me and giving me this incredible opportunity to serve Oklahoma!

Happy New Year,

Your Commissioner, Dana
