5 Weeks to go for Re-election E-mail

Dear Friends,

Hope all the Fathers out there had a great Father's Day! My Dad is no longer living, but on Father's Day and every day, I still think so much about him and what an influence he had on my life!

The past week has been a busy one as I traveled from Woodward to Mustang to Tulsa to Muskogee to Bartlesville and finally home again! Amazingly, my little 2008 blue truck has almost hit 64,000 miles since I first started driving it in March 2009. How thankful I am for the durability and reliability of this truck. I think it is just another reminder of how I became your Corporation Commissioner in the first place!

This has been a great week in many unexpected ways! I received the endorsement of the Tulsa Beacon which you can see on the website at: http://www.danamurphy.com/newsroom-mainmenu-33/endorsements-mainmenu-66/292-beacon-endorsement.html

I also saw many of my friends in Woodward, Canadian, Muskogee, Washington and Tulsa Counties as well. It was great to be back in Woodward, the area I call home and speak to the Woodward Chamber along with my legislative friends - Senator Bryce Marlatt, Representatives Gus Blackwell, Jeff Hickman and Mike Sanders. Among the topics discussed were the FY 2010 and 2011 budget, HB 2973 which will provides in part for the de-commissioning of wind turbines by the Corporation Commission and HB 3028 which in part sets a 15% goal for renewable power by 2015 and establishes a natural gas energy standard to maximize development of Oklahoma's natural gas resources.

You can check out the photos that I continue to share on my website and on facebook from events across the state by going to: http://www.danamurphy.com/on-the-trail-mainmenu-32.html I also hope you will continue to check out my weekly podcasts at: http://www.danamurphy.com/dana-speaks-murphymedia-58.html

I enjoyed my visits to Muskogee and Bartlesville and catching up with old friends and meeting new friends. The Muskogee Rotary Club treated me with such a great response and I was grateful for the time I spent with the Muskogee Phoenix editorial board. I can never fully express my appreciation for the endorsements that the Phoenix gave me in the 2008 primary and general election for Corporation Commissioner. I hope to receive their endorsement once again. My friends in Muskogee County, especially, Tom Montgomery, Jerry Huffer, the Graggs and so many others, helped me get elected in 2008 as your Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner.

The Friday Forum sponsored by Arvest Bank in Bartlesville always brings out a great crowd and I appreciated the the time to address those in attendance as well as meet with friends at radio station KWON-KYFM-KRIG and the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise.

Since I have a primary election opponent only (meaning on July 27th this election will be over), print, radio and television advertising will continue to be an important part of my re-election efforts. I hope I can continue to count on you to have the dollars I need to win re-election. If you have not yet contributed, I hope you will now and if you have contributed, but you can give a little more, I hope you will do so. You can contribute by printing a contributor slip directly from my website and mailing it with your donation or you can make a donation directly on-line at:http://www.danamurphy.com/donate-supportdana-42.html

As always, thanks for your continued support to my re-election efforts. You made the difference when I won in 2008 and in 2010, I know you will again!

God Bless,

Your Commissioner, Dana
