Countdown to the Primary for Re-election E-mail

Dear Friends,

As many of you have now learned, I will have a primary election on July 27th to win re-election as your Corporation Commissioner. Photos from filing can be seen at: http://www.danamurphy.com/on-the-trail-mainmenu-32/286-filing2010.html and you can check out the photos that I continue to share on my website and on facebook from events across the state by going to the On the Trail menu bar from the homepage on www.danamurphy.com

The Corporation Commission is a place where experience and education matter most. It is not the place for the uninitiated and those with no background or experience of any kind in areas regulated by the Commission. Especially in times of uncertainty, I am confident that you and the other voters in this state want the certainty of a proven track record from someone who actually knows the business and the work performed at the Commission. I have been on the job, doing the job since Day 1 and my commitment is to continue bring my A game and give it my all because Oklahomans deserve the best from their public servants.

On Sunday morning, I had the opportunity to be featured on Oklahoma City radio station KOKC's "Focus on Oklahoma" with Ken Johnson to talk about the Corporation Commission and current issues related to the budget, energy, utility and other Commission related issues. You can listen to that interview at: http://www.danamurphy.com/newsroom-mainmenu-33/audiovideo-mainmenu-34.html

Despite budgetary challenges, it is more important than ever to continue the efforts to modernize the Commission and provide broader, easier access to information by the public and the entities regulated by the Commission. Soon, a revamped website will be available to the public along with additional oil and gas forms being available on-line for operators and producers to more easily complete. The efforts towards becoming a paperless agency will continue as we strive to bcome more efficient and effective.

I continue to travel across Oklahoma fulfilling my promise to bring the Corporation Commission into the communities to let Oklahomans know who we are, what we do and how we affect their everyday lives. This week's travels will take me from Woodward in western Oklahoma down to Muskogee and up to Bartlesville in eastern Oklahoma. I appreciate the many invitations and opportunities I continue to receive to speak to civic, professional and other groups across the State. Recently, I surpassed the 20,000 mile marker traveling the state, trying to do my part in challenging budgetary times by continuing to use my own personal resources to fund these trips.

As I know from past experience, print, radio and television advertising are an important part of any election, even re-election. I hope I can continue to count on you to have the dollars I need to win re-election. If you have not yet contributed, I hope you will now and if you have contributed, but you can give a little more, I hope you will do so. You can contribute by printing a contributor slip directly from my website and mailing it with your donation or you can make a donation directly on-line at:http://www.danamurphy.com/donate-supportdana-42.html

Thank you for your continued support to my re-election efforts. You made the difference when I won in 2008 and I know you will again in 2010!

God Bless,

Your Commissioner, Dana
