Dear Friends,
As most of you know, I was excited to file for re-election as your Corporation Commissioner on the first day of filing, Monday, June 7. You can see the photos from filing at: http://www.danamurphy.com/on-the-trail-mainmenu-32/286-filing2010.html
On the last day of filing, a Republican challenger decided to file for the position as well. So...it turns out that I will have the opportunity to appear on the primary ballot on July 27th, just over 6 weeks from now!
I believe the voters have already shown what they want in a Corporation Commissioner - someone with the right blend of experience and education who is prepared to deal with the challenging, complicated issues facing the Commission on a daily basis; someone with a serious work ethic who is committed to excellence and efficiency in government. I have proven myself on the job to be a servant leader with common sense and balance who is dedicated to making independent, informed and well-reasoned decisions in the energy, utility, transportation and petroleum storage tank sectors regulated by the Commission. I am confident that the voters of Oklahoma will show their faith in me once again by electing me to a full term on the Corporation Commission.
In order to do print, radio and television advertising needed for a primary race, it is important to have the dollars to do so. If you have not yet contributed, I hope you will now and if you have contributed, but you can give a little more, I hope you will do so. You can contribute by printing a contributor slip directly from my website and mailing it with your donation or you can make a donation directly on-line at: http://www.danamurphy.com/donate-supportdana-42.html
It is also important to have a strong ground game as was shown when I was first elected to this office and I hope you will be willing to volunteer once again to help me win re-election. You can sign up to volunteer right on my website at www.danamurphy.com!
I appreciate your ongoing faith, support and encouragement as I have been serving as your Commissioner and I look forward to continuing in that service! I WILL continue to give my very best and do all I can to help our State and our Nation prosper and move towards true energy independence.
God Bless,
Your Commissioner, Dana |
