Dear Friends,
After the recent blizzard, I bet it is hard for most Oklahomans to believe that Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow today on Ground Hog Day, so spring is just around the corner! I hope all of you have stayed warm and safe during the past few days. My thoughts, prayers and gratitude go out to all those who have worked long, hard hours to take care of those in need and to keep our roads open and the power and services we need available.

Dear Friends,
I can hardly believe it is almost Christmas as 2010 seemed to fly by for me. As most of you know, I was re-elected to a full six year term on July 27, 2010 since I had no general election opponent. I was incredibly blessed and happy that I could help some of our other great GOP candidates in their general election races.

Dear Friends,
Like me, you are probably looking forward to election night whether for the end of the campaign election season or to see your favorite candidate win on November 2 or some combination of reasons including these! As most of you know, I won a full six year term by winning my primary race in July and will not appear on the ballot because I had no general election opponent. I am so grateful!

Dear Friends,
I cannot thank you enough for a big victory last night! Thanks for your votes, your effort, your encouragement and your financial support to my re-election campaign. As most of you know, there will be no general election, so I have now won a full six term! My statewide race was the only one without a general election and after 4 incredibly challenging races starting in 2002, and finishing this last one, I look forward to a break from my own campaigning...(However, I will not be going far as I plan to help Republican candidates and the Oklahoma Republican Party for the November elections!)

Dear Friends,
It has been a busy last few days leading up to the Primary election! I do not know about all of you, but I am ready for an election and a break from all campaign mailers and robo-calls from other candidates, at least for awhile!

Dear Friends,
Around the corner are two very important things for me, my Mother's birthday on July 26 and the Primary Election on July 27! I look forward to celebrating with her, a celebration I hope will continue from July 26 to July 27 with a win in the Primary!

Dear Friends,
This week seemed one of the busiest ever with many events including those close to home and those across the State! Both fundraising events this week were very successful and helped cap a quarterly fundraising cycle that was terrific, just shy of $180,000. Thanks to so many of you for your generosity and support to help me head into July 27th with lots of momentum!
All three radio commercials are now airing on radio stations across the Oklahoma! You can listen to them right from the website at: http://www.danamurphy.com/radio-ads-murphymedia-64.html

Dear Friends,
Needless to say, no matter where I seem to travel in Oklahoma during July these days, the rain is always right there! Not that as a northwestern Oklahoman, I am one to complain about rain, but it certainly adds a few challenges in traveling to events and for organizers of outdoor events to make decisions to cancel or postpone events. I can hardly believe I am ready to roll past the 66,000 mile mark on the Murphy Mobile...how time has flown since the day I started driving this truck in March of 2009!

Dear Friends,
Hope all of you had a wonderful July 4th despite some unusually rainy and cloudy weather! The flags, patriotic shirts, music and so many other reminders caused me to specially reflect over the past days about what it means to be an American including how I appreciate our troops and being able to worship the God I love freely. Our country faces many challenges, but I always have hope for America, just as our founding fathers did when they overcame so much to help create our Nation in the first place! They put their beliefs into action to make a difference, just as we can do too!

Dear Friends,
"On the Road Again" seems to be a familiar tune that I hum in my head as the miles continue to rack up on my little blue truck! This week, I headed south to Ada and Seminole, out west to Weatherford and Elk City, but also had a few stops a little closer to Edmond during the week as well. I visited our Commission field staff, caught up with familiar faces and met some new faces along the way AND was the surprised recipient of some incredibly generous campaign donations to boot!

Dear Friends,
Hope all the Fathers out there had a great Father's Day! My Dad is no longer living, but on Father's Day and every day, I still think so much about him and what an influence he had on my life!
The past week has been a busy one as I traveled from Woodward to Mustang to Tulsa to Muskogee to Bartlesville and finally home again! Amazingly, my little 2008 blue truck has almost hit 64,000 miles since I first started driving it in March 2009. How thankful I am for the durability and reliability of this truck. I think it is just another reminder of how I became your Corporation Commissioner in the first place!

Dear Friends,
As most of you know, I was excited to file for re-election as your Corporation Commissioner on the first day of filing, Monday, June 7. You can see the photos from filing at: http://www.danamurphy.com/on-the-trail-mainmenu-32/286-filing2010.html
On the last day of filing, a Republican challenger decided to file for the position as well. So...it turns out that I will have the opportunity to appear on the primary ballot on July 27th, just over 6 weeks from now!

Dear Friends,
How fast it seems like time has flown since I was first elected on November 4, 2008 to complete the term of former Commissioner Denise Bode which expired at the end of 2010; took office on January 13, 2009 and am now running for re-election for a full six-year term on the Commission! It hardly seems as if the time has gone so quickly.
The filing period for statewide candidates running for office on the 2010 ballot starts Monday, June 7 and goes through Wednesday, June 9. I will be filing for re-election on Monday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the State Capitol. I am grateful that part of my family, my Mom and my nephew, Lee, will be there with me on Monday. For those of you available, I would be honored and thrilled to have you there with us when I file for re-election at the Capitol on Monday.

Dear Friends,
Recent weather has affected so many, including part of our farm and ranch where a small tornado apparently hit one of our places and damaged trees and fences. Thankfully, no one in my family and none of our livestock and equipment were harmed. While the weather has been challenging, I am grateful that things continue to go incredibly well on the re-election campaign. In May alone, fund raising for my re-election campaign is already over $60,000. I am so appreciative of the great support I continue to receive!
