(OKLAHOMA
CITY) December 3, 2008 -- Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner-elect Dana
Murphy, R-Edmond, is ensuring she has a team ready from day one with
the selection of her administrative aide and assistant.
Murphy, who will be sworn in on Jan. 12, today announced she has
selected attorney Teryl L. Williams as her aide and veteran journalist
Billie L. Rodely as her assistant.
"I'm excited, humbled, and grateful for this opportunity to serve the
people of Oklahoma," Murphy said. "Oklahomans expect and deserve
effective leadership ready to address the important issues facing the
Commission. Having a capable, experienced, knowledgeable team by my
side will help me achieve what I've pledged to do."
Williams currently works at the Commission as a senior staff attorney
handling public utility cases. Her prior experience includes
administrative labor and employment law, civil litigation and criminal
law.
Rodely is a nationally-acclaimed journalist with more than 35 years of
experience in radio and television. She has received numerous awards
for her research, reporting, editing, anchoring, writing and production
skills.
"Both of these dedicated, qualified individuals have experience with
the Commission, are familiar with the issues and are prepared to hit
the ground running," Murphy said.

(Muskogee, OK) Today, U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, M.D. said that "Dana
Murphy is the best qualified person to take a seat on the Corporation
Commission. Her 20 years of real world experience in the energy
industry working as a geologist and energy attorney coupled with her
six years experience as an administrative law judge on the Corporation
Commission ensure that Dana is ready on day one to work for all
Oklahomans. As a small business owner herself, Dana also understands
the issues facing business owners and everyday Oklahomans in dealing
with energy costs today and in the future.
Coburn went on
to say, "Dana has a deep love for our state and a commitment to use all
of her God-given talents and skills to help our state and our nation
move forward to greater energy independence. Dana's education,
experience, conservative Oklahoma values and deep Oklahoma roots make
her the best choice for Corporation Commissioner. We can trust Dana to
serve with integrity in challenging times and to stand up for the best
interests of our state. Dana Murphy is worthy of your vote on November
4th."

State Senator Owen Laughlin and Representatives Gus Blackwell and Jeff Hickman today endorsed Ellis County native Dana Murphy for Corporation Commission.
"There's an old saying that you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl," said Laughlin, the Republican Floor Leader in the Senate. "That statement applies to our friend and
fellow western Oklahoman, Dana Murphy."
Murphy's deep western Oklahoma roots make her the only candidate for Corporation Commission who has a rural perspective.
"We know she'll look out for the interests of all Oklahomans," said Hickman, chairman of the Rural Caucus in the House of Representatives who also farms in northwest Oklahoma. "We also know she'll be a watchdog for the special needs of farmers and ranchers across our state."
Murphy has 20 years of experience in the oil patch and six years as a law judge at the Corporation Commission giving her more experience on issues which come before the Commission than her opponent.
"He's just a career bureaucrat, someone we don't need," said Blackwell, who serves as the Speaker Pro Tempore, the second highest position in the House of Representatives. "We need Dana; someone with real world experience who can make the critical decisions based on what's important to all Oklahomans, not just a special few."
"Dana is one of us," Laughlin said. "We know her, trust her and respect her. Dana will do the right thing for all Oklahomans. I join Representative Blackwell and Representative Hickman in encouraging
everyone to vote for Dana on November 4th."

(Oklahoma City, OK) Republican Corporation Commission
candidate Dana Murphy says appointee Corporation Commissioner Jim
Roth’s attempt to smear her name with accusations from a 15 year old
divorce is nothing but good ole’ boy politics at its worst. Murphy
says it’s being done with hundreds of thousands dollars of campaign
contributions from his special interest friends inside and outside the
state.
“As a career bureaucrat, he has relied on his
powerful, special interest friends to get where he is today”, says
Murphy. “He’s panicked because he won’t be able to deliver more favors
for powerful friends if he is not elected to the job that was given to
him.”

(Oklahoma
City) Who
remembers April 22, 1970, when Earth Day came into existence and brought
together an alignment of Americans incredibly rare today - Republicans and
Democrats, rich and poor, city slickers and farmers, tycoons and labor leaders
– all towards a common goal of preserving our planet?
However, long before Earth
Day began, many Oklahomans including my grandparents and my parents were
already “green” even though behind the scenes of any spotlight on the
environment. My grandmothers from
northwestern Oklahoma
reused and recycled many ordinary things – reusing wax paper from cereal boxes,
making the “best” pot and pan scrubbers from produce bags and creating compost
piles from food scraps and peelings was the norm.

In one hundred years Oklahoma has gone from being the new kid on
the block to being a leader in energy. Most of us know the story of Oklahoma's oil boom in
the early 1900s. Back then Tulsa
was the place for all things oil. Getty, Skelly, Kerr, McGee, Tom Slick,
Helmerich and Payne…the list goes on and on of famous oil men turning black
gold into jobs, revenue and a future for our state.
