(Oklahoma City, OK) Republican Corporation Commission candidate Dana
Murphy was endorsed today by her primary election opponent, State
Representative Rob Johnson.
"I'm proud to support Dana and help her in any way I can," said
Johnson." She is highly qualified and well prepared to serve as our
next Corporation Commissioner. As Commissioner I know she will be a
true watchdog for the interests of Oklahoma consumers."
"I am grateful for Rob's support," said Murphy. "This was a hard-fought
primary race between two candidates with experience in the energy
sector. As 5th generation Oklahomans, we both have deep roots in
Oklahoma, a very real love for our state and a lasting commitment to
look out for everyday Oklahomans."
"I look forward to working with Rob and his supporters in the coming
months. I will continue to work hard to get my message to all
Oklahomans," said Murphy. "My message is still the same. The coming
years are critical to Oklahoma's energy future and it just makes sense
to elect an Oklahoman with the most energy experience. With over 20
years experience in the energy sector, including 6 years as an
Administrative Law Judge at the Corporation Commission, I am still the
best and most qualified candidate to serve on the Corporation
Commission. I will be the independent watchdog that Oklahoma ratepayers
deserve."
Murphy currently owns and operates her own energy law practice where
she represents mineral owners and producers. Prior to opening her own
law practice, Murphy served as an Administrative Law Judge at the
Corporation Commission for nearly six years, hearing over 5,000 cases.
During that time she was awarded the 2001 Corporation Commissioners'
Public Servant Award for her work inside and outside of the Commission.
In 2007, Murphy was named the Outstanding Woman in Energy by Energy
Advocates.
