Dear Friends,
Hard to believe, but I now have 18,000+ miles on the Murphy
Mobile. Since the primary, I've traveled to Durant, Lawton, Duncan,
Norman, Tulsa and many places in between. I'm continuing to work hard
to earn votes, raise money and spread our message about who has the
best credentials to serve as your next Corporation Commissioner.
We have a tough journey ahead. We have learned that special interest
political operatives have moved into our state to help my opponent.
Rest assured these outsiders do not share our Oklahoma values and
traditions, but seek to force their East Coast liberal values and ideas
on us.
To be your independent voice, the one you can trust to look out for you
and your family, I must continue to raise money so that our message can
be heard. Last week was our best week of fundraising ever. But, I
must have your ongoing help to keep the momentum going so we have the
money needed to fight these special interest groups.
Your donations of $25, $50, $100 or more, by check or online donation at www.danamurphy.com, will ensure we can continue the fight right up to Election Day.
It was an honor and privilege to speak to the American Islamic Group
last Sunday night where Corporation Commission appointee, Jim Roth also
spoke. What struck me, and I'm sure struck members of the audience,
was that my opponent didn’t mention any “real” qualifications for this
office. He didn’t talk about his educational background or how he
worked his way up the bureaucratic channels in Oklahoma County
government or how his service as a County Commissioner has any
relevance at the Corporation Commission (OCC). In short, he never made
his case for what qualifies him to serve on the OCC.
Our message continues to be the same – I am still
the most qualified candidate running for this office. Let my record
of over 20 years of energy industry experience speak for itself: 10
years as a geologist in the oil patch; almost six years as an
Administrative Law Judge at the Commission hearing over 5,000 cases;
and over 4.5 years as an attorney running my own practice.
Large amounts of cash continue to flow into my opponent’s war chest
from those more interested in their own agendas than what's best for
Oklahoma. In contrast, most of my contributions continue to come from
small business owners (10 employees or less), farmers, ranchers
and every day working and retired Oklahomans. My supporters want
someone who will put the Oklahoma’s best interests first, not cowtow to
special interests.
Thanks
to all of you at the State Committee meeting Saturday who dug into your
purses and wallets to help with our fight. Thanks also to the
wonderful County and Women’s groups who continue to help me with their
donations.
I ask that you join our team with your time, your donations and your
prayers, so that together we can continue to stand up for everyday
Oklahomans and move Oklahoma forward in the best way possible on the
critical energy issues that confront us now and in the future. With
your help, I KNOW we will WIN!!!
God Bless,
Dana
